A special spot for professionals
If you are a professional or amateur astronomer or astrophotographer, we have arranged a special spot for uou at only 50 metres from the main house, accessible by car and with power points to connect your equipment. During the night, you can safely leave your equipment there while you take a shower, have a nap or warm up by the fireplace when cold weather hits in winter.
If you don't have a telescope... no problem!
Every night, weather permitting, we go out to watch the skies All you have to do is to go to the platform where we have installed a telescope. Of course, we recommend warm clothing; even in August we advise you to wear long trousers, socks and slippers, a jacket, a hat or cap and, above all, comfortable clothes.
Observe and enjoy
If you want to observe the nearest star, our Sun, bidding farewell in shades of red, blue and orange, and see the stars and the Milky Way gradually occupying the night sky, take a seat in our comfy armchairs with views of the universe.
Other activities in Monfragüe
One of the charms of the Palacio Viejo is that you can be having breakfast while watching a blue tit fluttering on a hedge in the garden.
Here you can observe and take pictures of scavengers feasting on carrions from less than ten metres away.
We abide by the «from farm to fork» principle; nothing beats picking the tomatoes, aubergines, courgettes, peppers that you are going to have for dinner.
